About us
Wes Humphrey, Founder of the Lake Havasu Symphonic Winds (1998), whose vision created a home for adult musicians to play, perform, and connect.
Lake Havasu Symphonic Winds is a community concert band made up of passionate musicians ages 16 to 80. Founded in 1998 by Wes Humphrey to give adult players a place to perform, the Winds is now Lake Havasu City’s only full-size live band—offering affordable, high-quality concerts year-round.
Under the direction of Kim Lehmann, the Winds performs a mix of marches, classics, Broadway tunes, movie scores, jazz, and holiday favorites. Our concerts are themed, family-friendly, and often feature guest performers and soloists from within the band.
We’re powered by volunteers and supported by ticket sales, community donations. Our concerts are affordable (just $10 for adults!) and family-friendly—students and children with an adult get in free.
Whether you’re a music lover, a concertgoer, or a musician looking for a place to play—we invite you to be part of our story. Come hear what we’re all about. Better yet, come play with us.
Our mission is simple
Lake Havasu Symphonic Winds brings musicians of all ages together to rehearse, perform, and share the power of live concert band music with the community.
Our vision
To make music a joyful and lasting part of life in Lake Havasu City—uniting generations, inspiring creativity, and enriching our community through live performance.

Supporting the Next Generation of Musicians
The Lake Havasu Symphonic Winds is proud to support young musicians in our community. Through our scholarship program, we help students further their musical education and pursue their passion.
In 2024, we awarded a scholarship to a Lake Havasu High School junior to attend a summer music camp — a first step toward what we hope will be an ongoing tradition of support.
These scholarships are made possible by the generosity of our audience and community sponsors. All proceeds from our concerts go toward scholarships and other music education initiatives.
